Apple suppliers preparing for 2nd gen iPad in Q1 2011

According to a new report, the new iPad that comes with FaceTime capabilities could be appearing as early as first quarter next year. It is believed that its suppliers are targeting to ship the “ultra-thin glass-based touch panels” to Apple by then.

Nothing else has been revealed except that it will maintain its 9.7″ screen size, we’re hoping it will be of higher resolution to fend off threats from Android Tablets. As mentioned couple of days back, Apple is having pressure of making FaceTime a standard throughout its iOS range. Today iPad is the only stumbling block without such capabilities as it is being offered on the iPhone 4 and now the iPod Touch. It was previously rumoured that Apple might break its own 12 months product life cycle by offering a new iPad replacement earlier than expected.
