The dude’s name is Brian Sweet and he writes for Gumball Tech and he claims that he claims to have beaten the world text-messaging record using nothing more than the onscreen keyboard of his iPhone 4.
Previously a woman form the UK typed (or more accurately swiped) out the phrase “the razor-toothed piranhas of the genera Serrasalmus and Pygocentrus are the most ferocious freshwater fish in the world. In reality they seldom attack a human,” in a whisker under 26 seconds using Swype installed in a Samsung Galaxy S. But in a video uploaded on YouTube Sweet managed the same phrase under 22 seconds, a full 4 seconds quicker than the world record.
Super thumbs Sweet was that although the record is not official, it’s definitely better than what that woman recently achieved.
So this begs the question, can people actually type faster using a standard onscreen keyboard? Although it seems that this is possible, you have to be one super texter to pull the feat.
Check out the video after the jump and get ready to be amazed, it’s all a blur of thumbs to us.

As you can see from the picture above, the device — codenamed T8788 — looks terribly delish.
As always with these things, you don’t get much details save for the fact that it is built by HTC and will be running Windows Phone 7 (the centrally located Windows key is a dead giveaway).
What’s unique about this T8788 device is that it features a slide out speaker and a nifty kickstand at the back, making this Windows Phone 7 device a media centric gizmo.
No word on launch date but we’re expecting a deluge on WP7 phones to make their debuts come October and beyond.
Have we told you that it looks sooo good!

Dell has launched a new Android device called the Aero and it goes for $99.99 on AT&T’s 2 year contract or $299.99 without. As mentioned recently, the Dell Aero might be coming to Malaysia within this year as well.
The Dell Aero carries a 3.5″ 640×350 screen which is quite rare and has 2GB on board storage with microSD slot. It supports HSDPA up to 3.6Mbps, EDGE and also spots a 5 Megapixel camera.
Disappointingly as expected, it runs on Android 1.5. We hope they have a Android 2.2 update in their plans as running an older version is a turn off.
That said, we’re looking forward to the Dell Thunder which seems to be able to offer something solid.
You can check out the Dell Aero product page here.

You probably have heard of Gorilla Glass being used on the the Dell Streak and Samsung Galaxy S which adds durability to the screen. So is that all marketing fluff? While we expect the typical blade or key scratch test, the Koreans had a different torture in mind.
They subject a Samsung Galaxy S in a bag shake of screws, keys and coins but yet the screen remains in prestine condition. If that isn’t enough, they also performed a drop test on the road. Well, did it survive? Watch the video after the jump.
