T-Mobile stops offering G1/HTC Dream

T-Mobile has removed the G1/HTC Dream, the first commercial Android device from its online store after a good 2 years. This was the device that kicked off the Android wave and gave the iPhone some necessary competition. At least it lasted longer than the Nexus One. You can read up the initial G1 review from Engadget here.

Its specs of 528MHz Qualcomm processor and Android 1.6 is rather dated right now which calls for a deserving replacement. There were indications that G1 Blaze, a new QWERTY Slider device from HTC will be the next successor.

Do you own a G1? We suggest keeping this device as a collector’s item.
