Google Maps Navigation, a sought after feature for any Android device is now available for the United Kingdom, according to an update from Engadget. At the time of announcement last year, the turn by turn navigation from Google was only available in the United States.
This is good news to Android 2.1 users in the UK but unfortunately HTC Hero users may have to wait a little longer. According to Engadget, Hero users will need to wait until June for an official free upgrade to Android 2.1 Eclair in Europe.
Android 1.6 and above is required to get the navigation feature and looks like Europe folks would be stuck with their Android 1.5 for the time being. At the moment, Taiwan and US users are eligible for the free Android 2.1 upgrade.
Our question to Google, when is Malaysia’s turn?
