It is getting more convincing that the leaked photos we saw recently is indeed the next generation iPhone from Apple. Gizmodo has an interesting post on what they believed is the next Apple iPhone.
Not only they have played with the device, they even dissected the unit to reveal what’s really under the hood.

Some discoveries are:
Folks at Gizmodo and Engadget are pretty convinced and we share the same excitement on what the next iPhone has to offer.
Check out more juicy photos and video over at Gizmodo here.
Engadget reported that they have spotted what seems to be solid proof that the earlier released pictures that were speculated to be of the upcoming iPhone HD is indeed the real deal.
Apple and iPhone fanboys are going crazy with this new revelation but we’re not holding our breaths just yet.
Apple is no pushover and when it comes to things like this they will most definitely know how to keep a secret, a secret.
Engadget Editor-in-Chief Joshua Topolsky seems to think otherwise and in convinced that what we’re looking at is in fact the latest iPhone prototype.
We’re still not buying it though, the design language is just too different from all the previous generation iPhone.
What do you think?
BERNAMA reports that the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Comission (SKMM) is monitoring three WIMAX operators for not meeting their respective coverage targets.
The report said that all three have failed to achieve the 25 percent targetted market penetration.
Deputy Minister of Information Communication and Culture Datuk Joseph Salang Gandum said from March 2008 to March 2009, the three companies had failed to achieve the target and can be fined.
He added that the government was ready to withdraw the licences of companies that failed to deliver the target, including Asiaspace Sdn Bhd.
So far nothing has happened.
He also said that athough the target has not been met, all four companies have shown an improved performance since March 2009.
We’re not sure what he means by “all four have shown improved performance” because it has been over a year since March 2009 and YTL still have not managed to convince the public that they indeed have a WiMAX network up and running. AMAX and REDtone are not fairing too well either with very limited coverage and a relatively small subscriber base.
But it seems like we’ve heard all this before. Those with long memories will recall that MCMC had alledgedly issued fines to the same operators for the exact same reason. The only difference is that the statement was made October 2009.
In October, 2009 The Star reported that SKMM issued letters on the fines to YTL e-Solutions (RM1.9mil), AsiaSpace (RM1.7mil), REDtone International (RM200,000) for failure to meet the 25% population coverage by the end of March but the operators have all made appeals against the fines.
We’re not sure if much has changed since then and the only WiMAX operator that’s really moving forward is P1; even then we’re seeing them being plagued with a very unstable network.

We visited the AMAX booth during our PC Fair KL walkabout and saw that they were showcasing something very peculiar.
Some of the promoters were donned with devices that were showing TV content. At first, we thought that it was streaming content but after talking with the promoters, we found out that it was something very, very different.
Asiaspace the owners of AMAX WiMAX is apparently offering on trial basis mobile TV services via DMB or Digital Media Broadcasting – developed in Korea. This is the first time we’re seeing this technology being showcased directly to the Malaysian consumer.
We we’re told by the promoters that the DMB service has all the terrestrial channels like TV1, TV2, TV3, 8TV etc, covered along with some pay-channels included. They however couldn’t give further details on what these pay channels are.
More details and device pictures after the jump.
OK we’ve said it, we’re not a fan of PC Fair. It’s just too crowded and too much of a hassle for us but admitably, they are a few gems to be discovered…and here’s one of them.
The Lenovo IdeaPad S10-3t netbook

This Lenovo is not your run of the mill netbook. It spots a convertible form factor that allows you to switch from normal netbook configuration to a tablet style device just with the swivel of its 10.1in multi-touch screen.
Specs wise, it’s pretty standard stuff, with an Intel Atom N450 processor, 1GB RAM and a 250GB HD drive. The S10-3t will set you back about RM1900.
Its pretty steep price to pay for a netbook and that multi-touch swivel screen had better be able to do some pretty neat tricks if we are to be impressed.
If only we can get our hands on one. Hmmm…

Had our obligatory KL PC Fair walkabout over the weekend. We had a horrid time. How was your PC Fair experience?
Honestly speaking, there’s really not much to look forward to when PC Fair rolls into town. Year in, year out, we see the same promos, the same deals and the gimmicks. If you ask us, is it really worth it slogging through the traffic jam, spending hours looking for parking and then wade through the throngs of people while being shoved, pushed, groped and stepped on…no, it is absolutely, irrevocably, positively not.
Suprise, surprise…Blackberry users use their devices the most on weekdays while iPhone users use thier’s more on weekends. That’s the latest research released by mobile analytics people at Localytics.
In the same research, Localytics also reports that BlackBerry usage on weekends is statistically identical to usage on weekdays usage but in contrast, iPhone owners use mobile apps more frequently on weekends by as much as 40% higher than the same time Monday through Friday.
We’re not sure if the usage patterns in Malaysia are similar though as the study was conducted across millions of Blackberry and iPhone users in the US and Canada for period of over two months.
In a previous iPhone analytics study, Localytics reported that mobile app usage on the iPhone suggested that while the iPhone is making inroads as a business device, it continues to be predominantly a personal device more heavily used outside of working hours.
BlackBerry, on the other hand, continues to reach out to consumers with new devices and targeted sponsorships. However, the BlackBerry analytics study from Localytics shows that mobile app usage still appears concentrated around professional use.
With the enterprise friendly iPhone OS 4.0 coming soon, will we see the iPhone being more accepted as a business device?
For that, we’ll just have to wait and see.

After our Unboxing Post of the HTC Legend, now it’s time to see if it works as good as it looks. We’re going to compare the user experience with the iPhone 3GS, a worthy competitor in this segment.
We’ll be showing you how it fares when it comes to typing, moving around through menus, internet browsing experience, media capabilities and of course photo and video performance.
