Could this be the very first glimpse of the back plate of the iPhone HD?
We’re not too sure ourselves actually.
But most probably, its not. The source mentioned that the picture Metada indicates it has passed through Photoshop CS4. A doctored hoax? You tell us.

Apple forums are buzzin with rumours that the new iPhone will make its appearance on June 22. Fueling this rumour is a report that Apple has booked a venue for the launch of the device on the particullar date.
Obviously, Apple is not saying anything and like most Apple rumours, the accuracy of this June 22 rumour is 50-50 at best but we remain optimistic.
Why?
Because apparently the venue in question booked by Apple for 22 June could be the very same venue where Jobs launched the three previous iPhones.
One of the venues being mentioned in the rumours is the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco where many Apple special media events have taken place in the past. Of course, the venue booking can’t be substantiated at the moment.
Another rumour is saying that the new iPhone could be unveiled during the keynote address for Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference whic is almost certainly always held at the Moscone West convention center in San Francisco. This could be a likely source of the rumours. Simillarly we and no one out there (on one who’s working in Apple at least) can verify any of this.
So all this could very well be a huge puff of smoke or we could be in for a very awesome surprise come June 22.
Stay tuned.

A recent StarBiz report revealed that TM’s UniFi HSBB service has only 900 subsribers currently signed up.
Considering that UniFi is now available in Taman Tun Dr Ismail Shah Alam, Subang Jaya and Bangsar – some of Klang Valley’s most affluent areas – we think that this is rather surprising.
We know that it takes up to eight hours to install UniFi in a typical house but by our calculations, 900 subscribers in a month is not really an impressive number taking into account that TM and the government will be spending RM11.3 billon for HSBB in the hopes of covering 1.3 million households and high-impact economic areas by 2020.
Within the year TM is looking to have UniFi available Petaling Jaya, Putrajaya, Cyberjaya, Damansara, Cheras, Selayang, Puchong, Serdang, Klang, Kepong and Wangsa Maju.
Its funny how in the report, TM’s CEO, Datuk Zamzamzairani warns users to expect teething problems in the initial stages as TM is still ramping up its capabilities. Things will smoothen out after that. Perhaps he knows something that we don’t.

Celcom is having a roadshow at KLCC Concourse area from 13-19 April 2010 with special discounts on BlackBerry and other devices. What caught our attention is a range of HTC Android phones including HTC Tattoo, HTC Hero and the latest HTC Legend.
There’s a crazy sale promo that’s happening between 12PM-2PM during the roadshow where they give extra discounts limited to 30 units daily.
If you’re eyeing for the HTC Legend, we suggest getting it from DiGi for RM999. No rushing during lunch hour required.
Download the brochure here.
More details here.

DiGi has just revamped its DG Smart Plan with its RM68/month commitment postpaid plan. Previously “DG Smart Plan” was a time limited Blackberry plan that offers the Blackberry Curve 8520 for RM549. Now DiGi has expanded the offering with more devices which include the most welcomed Android powered HTC Legend and Blackberry Bold 9700.
How Smart is DG Smart Plan?
So far most data centric users would sign up existing postpaid plan with a bolt-on monthly data package. This is what we call Postpaid First, Data Second approach.
Thanks to online social networking such as Twitter and Facebook, more users are jumping on the mobile data bandwagon. What’s more interesting to note is that people are starting to communicate over mobile Internet either via Blackberry messaging or IMs such as Ping and Whatsapp.

We sent an email to the VP of group corporate communications in TM to get a status update on what caused the 30 minute nationwide outage of all its broadband services including sister company’s Celcom broadband service.
We didn’t get a reply.
Instead tucked in an obscure corner of their website, TM has put up a short and condescendingly generic announcement apologising to its subscribers for the service outage. Not a single sentence in the announcement even attempted to vaguely explain what had cause the outage.
What it does mention is that “restoration works are already in progress and services in some areas have been restored in stages“. In addition to that, “TM is currently monitoring the situation and will make further announcements on the progress of the restoration works“.
The announcement didn’t indicate any timeline upon which TM hopes to complete the “restoration work“.
Once again the nation’s self proclaimed number one broadband provider has kept its over one million subscribers in the dark.
Here’s what other Streamyx subscribers are saying… #StreamyxSucks
Dear TM, more than an apology, we all deserve an explanation.
(Update 1134hrs 16042010) Got a reply from TM. They said that they will continue provide updates via announcements on TM website. Here’s the latest announcement, TM says broadband services have been fully restored and measures have been put in place to ensure that service is not interupted.
Based on what we know, we’re pretty sure the outage is beyond a DNS failure and could be something else. What it is,TM won’t tell us.
