(Update) Possible SMS SCAM: UOB offers Nexus One as credit card promo?

Posted:  April 6, 2010   By: ccsoya   4 comments

The SMS we received from 66300 reads:
Priviledged offer, Google Nexus Phone for only RM215.67/mth on UOB 12 mths 0% IPP. Valid till 30 April 2010. T&C apply. For details call 0323003388.

another variation read:

There’s a thread on LowYat.Net forums about this offer as well.

When we first saw this we thought – “this can’t be true”.

A quick call to UOB customer service 03 2612 8121 revealed that our suspicion was warranted.

The SMS is not true and don’t be fooled. You could end up with a very hefty credit card bill rather than a Nexus One.

What’s inside the iPad

We cringe looking at the destruction and carnage suffered by the iPad HERE.

No matter how many times we looked at it, we could never get use to it. The sight of a brand new iPad being put to pasture so prematurely just strikes a nerve with us.

Oh well…enough of that. Now let’s take a look at what’s inside the iPad and how it’s put together.

The experts at iFixit has done it again. This time tearing down, with meticulous almost surgical precision, the iPad to reveal it’s inner workings for our wonder and enjoyment.

View it for yourself HERE.

For many people, the iPad launch day was pretty awesome even magical, most are still unboxing and discovering new things with their band new iPad.

But it’s business as usual for the geniuses at Blendtec thought that it would be a great idea to put a brand spanking new iPad into their world famous blender and ask the question – Will it blend.

What the video for yourself to find out the answer.

Where is the (Android) love?

Posted:  April 6, 2010   By: ccsoya   2 comments

Now we have two telcos offering the iPhone, we have all the major telcos carrying Blackberry, yet not much of a whisper as to who and when will the official Android phone arrive in the country.

We’re talking about the Nexus One.

The Blackberry is a great business machine but it doesn’t like social media and doesn’t do video too well. Come to think of it, the Blackberry doesn’t do anytihng other than messaging and email well, but to quite a number of people out there, it has its uses.

The iPhone is a great phone with awesome multimedia and social media capbilities but we hate it. Don’t get us wrong, its not the phone’s fault – its awesome – it’s just that everyone has one and that’s kind of lame.

Where’s the Android love people? We would love to get our hands on one. We’ve had a brief encounter with the device and we admit, the UI is not as polished as the iPhone but it has a place in our hearts. And we’d love to have the choice to get one officially here.

What would you get? Nexus One, iPhone or Blackberry?

Here’s hoping the telco gods are listening to our prayers.
