6 months ago, Happy had stopped its happy rates when they remove the 45 minutes for only 99sen offer. It had made a lot of frown faces and the Happy trail somehow was beginning to trickle down.

Recently they had revised their plans and hopefully this would put more smiles on faces. Until 31st July 2009, they are offering a Happy Hour promotion of 33 sen for 45 minutes of calls made to both Happy and DiGi numbers from 9am-5pm.

For normal calls to all networks, calls are charged at 33 sen/minute and calls from the 3rd-15th minute are free.

As seen from the image at the top, it looks as if DiGi is trying to tease their new upcoming MVNO rival in terms of colour and slogan of  ”Everybody Can Talk“. :) happyrate

When Happy started a year ago, it was the pioneer of 1 second billing block before U Mobile started operations. Currently, Happy charges based on 20 second billing block, which is better than the industry standard of 30 second billing block.

SMS are charged at 5 sen/SMS for Happy to Happy while other networks are charged at 7 sen/SMS.

As comparison, Happy also published a calls comparison chart with other prepaids out there.

We like the new changes on Happy especially the Happy hour rates being extended to DiGi customers. Hopefully they would extend this beyond 31st July or replace this with a better offer. As Happy is the pioneer of per second billing, we do expect that Happy will go back to its roots one day.

For now, it gives quite a competive edge against its prepaid rivals with free minutes and slightly lower second billing. If you’re interested, you can order a RM30 starter pack now with a FREE Tote bag. Order your starter pack online by direct debit or credit card here.

    1. Happy is getting too confusing. I still prefer if they use back the same rate plan. It is harder to understand which minute is free, what time and which network. Who could remember them? Happy is killing themselves with the complexities.

    2. I agree with soyacincau… I just got my Happy SIM card after seeing the ad and I’m damn “Happy” (pun intended) with it. The promo damn good – 33sen compared to 99sen for 45 min – where can find?! But wishful thinking to expect it to last forever – how Happy make money like that? Anyhow – the basic rate also damn good in my opinion.

And not that confusing what. It’s basically the same for any call to any network, just that during Happy Hour (just remember working hours 9-5 la), can call any Happy or digi person (quite a few million wei) and pay only for 1 min but the rest is free so can talk non-stop – most of my frens on digi some more! woo hoo! :D

Plus, I don’t understand why so many people still like the 1 sec charging. A lot of my calls around 1 min – damn mahal lor on the old rate. now… 20 sec charging and 33sen/min damn good man. MUCH better than bloody hotlink – say cheap but then charge you for 1 whole minute even if i don’t use.

Yg paling confusing is celcom x pax man – if not for them i think the comparison chart wouldn’t have sooooo many things… some more damn MAHAL.
