Fix PDF exploit on Jailbroken iPhones without upgrading iOS

Still thinking whether to upgrade to iOS 4.0.2 with no chance of jailbreaking at the moment? The iPhone Dev guys have a solution!

While the iOS 4.0.2 was designed to fix the recent PDF Exploit, now there’s an app that does just that for jailbroken phones. It is an app called PDF Patch which can be downloaded from Cydia. What’s interesting is that the recent 4.0.2 patch is only applicable for selected devices which leaves older phones unprotected.

iOS 4.0.2 jailbroken by Redsn0w but only for iPhone 3G

Yesterday, Apple released iOS 4.0.2 which thwarts any chances of jailbreaking via Safari. Just a day after the new update, Redsn0w has already jailbroken it! Before you get excited, this jailbreak is only for the iPhone 3G. That’s right, 3G version only so 3GS and iPhone 4 users will not be able to jailbreak yet.

This redsn0w’s jailbreak is a bit more complicated as it requires you to download some utilities and firmwares to be flashed onto your device. Head to redmond pie on instructions to download.
