This is probably the best deal yet for the GoPro Karma Drone. Originally priced at RM5,999 for the GoPro HERO5 Black combo, you can get one now at half price from All IT Hypermarket. On top of that, they are giving an additional GoPro Karma battery worth RM599 for free.
UPDATE: The free drone offer is no longer available.
GoPro is going through a rough time and they have clipped the wings of its foldable Karma drone. If you’re still interested in this drone, a Malaysian retailer is offering it for free if you purchase a GoPro HERO5 Black with a Karma Grip bundle.
The GoPro Karma was one of the most anticipated GoPro products in recent times. At the time of launch, it stood out for having a foldable form factor which made it super portable to carry around. On top of that, the gimbal also doubles up as a standalone handheld stabiliser for your GoPro camera.
Unfortunately, after less than two years, GoPro is pulling the plug on the Karma and they are exiting the drone business for good.
Much like Google has become the household name for search engines (no, nobody uses Bing, get out of here), GoPro is pretty much the go-to brand for users looking for an action cam that works and that can last.
Today, the company revealed their latest and most powerful action cam ever — the GoPro HERO6 Black — which, despite its similar exterior, may be one of the biggest new GoPro launches the company has made in a long time.
The GoPro Karma drone will be available in Malaysia from May 7 this year. The drone will retail for RM5,999 and it comes bundled with the HERO5 Black camera as well. The first 50 buyers will get free drone flying lessons organised by GoPro at Tadom Hills in Banting. The drone will also be available for purchase online at Lazada, Shopee and 11Street on the same day. You can experience the drone for yourself at the GoPro roadshow that will be held from May 24 to 28 in Mid Valley.
We reported earlier that GoPro’s fabled Karma drone was falling out of the sky, which is obviously terrible especially since the drone itself has received a lot of praise from critics. Yeah, it isn’t as good of a drone as something like the DJI Mavic Pro, but you’re getting a solid package with the Karma, Karma Grip and GoPro HERO5.
Well, if you’ve been eyeing a stabiliser for your brand new GoPro HERO5 before the drones started failing, the good news is that GoPro is now selling their Karma Grip standalone.
The GoPro HERO5 Black and HERO5 Session was launched in Malaysia last week and we took some time to have a quick chat with GoPro’s Global Education senior manager Chris Naegele about what makes the new HERO5 cameras special.
We also got a quick sneak peak at their new Karma drone and it’s super awesome.
