The Malaysian 14th General Election is taking place on 9 May 2018 and many are expected to return home to cast their votes. As there’s an increase in demand, AirAsia will be adding more domestic flights and are deploying larger aircraft with more seating capacity.
As announced by the Election Commision (EC), registered voters can find out their exact polling station for the upcoming 14th Generation Election starting today. This includes the actual venue to cast your vote, time, channel (Saluran) and serial number (No Siri).
UPDATE: The special fares are now available on AirAsia. RM99 fare is only within West Malaysia and East Malaysia.
UPDATE 2: The special fares have been extended by an extra day. Now covering domestic flights on 8-10 May.
If you’re a Sabah or Sarawak registered voter that’s based in West Malaysia, AirAsia will be offering lower fares for you to return home and cast your vote. This was announced by AirAsia’s Group CEO, Tony Fernandes, via Twitter and the special fares will be available by Monday are available now.
Parliament was dissolved last week and the 14th Malaysian general election is happening very soon. If you’re a registered voter, it is advisable that you check your voting details at least a week before you head to the polls.
