Apple‘s iPad Pro has been a huge success if we’re looking at sales figures, but it is also incredibly…well, huge. At 12.9 inches, it can be a little tricky to hold and use in one hand which may have turned some off it.
Still, that didn’t stop it from outselling Microsoft’s entire Surface lineup in Q4 of 2015. If the only thing stopping you from picking one up yourself is the size, we have good news for you because it looks like Apple has plans to launch a 9.7-inch iPad Pro.

Peripheral maker Logitech was one of the first third-party accessory makers to announce that they were making a Smart Connect enabled keyboard for the iPad Pro. That was back when the iPad Pro was officially released and has seen many tech sites talk about the typing experience that Logitech offers.
Alas, 365 days of 2015 is close to meeting its end but before we celebrate New Year’s, there’s much gift giving to be done. What’s more, it also comes with a little discount.
Seen on Reddit and Apple’s Support Communities, those who recently picked up Apple’s largest tablet offering, the iPad Pro have already started complaining of bad experiences while charging. But these issues usually come along with newly released products anyway – still, should you be worried?
When it come to hardware, Apple doesn’t normally disclose its full spec sheet. Apart from revealing its new processors, the other details such as RAM and battery capacity are often left out and we would need to wait for some tear down to learn more of its internals. The current iPhone 6 has just 1GB of DDR3 RAM while their existing iPad Air 2 comes with 2GB RAM.
UPDATE: Daniel Chia, Head of Sales & Marketing IPRO Mobile (M) Sdn Bhd, has clarified that the LIVEPAD is equipped with a microSD card slot that supports cards up to 128GB. There will also be a 32GB version that will released sometime in March.
It’s amazing how far we’ve come, you can now get a computer for less that RM700. Sure it’s no frills and don’t expect to run full graphics 3D-rendered games on it but for 90% of the people who just want a machine, to check Facebook, watch movies and do some office work on, you’re not going to need an i7, 512GB SSD, dedicated graphics powerhouse, what you might want to get is this, a sub-RM700 Intel Atom-based Windows 8.1 tablet from homegrown brand, iPro.
The iPro LIVEPAD 8.9 offers an 8.9-inch display tablet running Intel’s Atom Z3735F Quad Core processor. You also get 16GB of on board storage, a 1920×1200 screen, an 8,000mAh battery and 2GB of RAM. At the rear, you get a 5MP AF camera and a 2MP rear camera. If you’re the first 800 people to buy the iPro LIVEPAD 8.9 from today until March 1, 2015, you can get the device for RM699 at Plaza Low Yat.
If you’re the first 500 buyers, iPro will also throw in a free keyboard and pouch worth RM199 with each unit purchased. If that’s not enough, every iPro LIVEPAD comes with a free one-year subscription of Office 365 Personal that includes Power Point, Word, Excel, OneNote plus a massive 1TB of OneDrive storage.
One major drawback for the iPro LIVEPAD is that it doesn’t seem to have a microSD expansion, so you’re going to run out of storage really quickly and will be depending on cloud storage or an external hard disk fairly regularly.
Once the promo ends, the iPro LIVEPAD will retail for RM799 and that puts it directly in competition with the other cheap Windows 8 computer, the ASUS EeeBook X205. The EeeBook X205 forgoes the tablet form-factor and touch screen but offers up a laptop with an 11.6-inch HD display (1366×768). You also get an Intel Atom Quad-Core 1.33GHz Z3735 Processor (Bay Trail-T) with 2GB of RAM, an option of 32GB or 64GB of on board storage and a microSD card slot
which gives the ASUS an advantage over the iPro.
