Malaysia has recorded 660 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 50,390. This is the lowest number of new cases reported in a day since 31st October 2020. There are 4 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 322.
The Ministry of Health has reported 630 new recoveries and a total of 37,254 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 73.9% while the mortality rate is now 0.6%.
There are currently 12,814 active COVID-19 cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 103 are in ICU while 41 require respiratory support.
Out of the 660 new cases today, 4 are imported while 656 are transmitted locally. Sabah records the most with 387 cases, followed by Selangor with 141 cases. Both Kuala Lumpur and Negeri Sembilan have recorded 31 cases each.
The Ministry of Health has identified 8 new clusters today.
