Malaysia has recorded just one new COVID-19 case today which brings the total number of infections to 9,002. There are no new deaths reported and the death toll remains at 125.
The Ministry of Health has reported 16 new recoveries, and there are now 8,684 patients that have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is 96.47% while the mortality rate is 1.39%.
At the moment, the are 193 active cases remaining which are isolated and receiving treatment. There are currently no cases in ICU.
The sole positive case involves a Malaysian in Perlis. The last time Malaysia recorded a single new daily case was on the 1st of July which was an imported case involving a Malaysian returning from Turkey.
The Ministry of Health hopes the public will continue to adhere to the SOP. It is everyone’s responsibility to reduce the number of infections by practising physical distancing, good hygiene and avoid the 3Cs – crowded spaces, confined spaces and close conversations.
