It’s back to double digits again as Malaysia records 14 new COVID-19 cases today. This brings the total number of infections to 8,718. There are no new deaths reported today and the death toll is currently 122.
The Ministry of Health has reported 4 new recoveries today and a total of 8,519 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is currently 97.72% while the mortality rate is 1.40%.
At the moment, there are 77 active cases remaining which are still receiving treatment. 3 are in ICU with 2 requiring respiratory support.
Out of the 14 new cases reported today, 3 are imported while 11 are locally transmitted. The 3 imported cases are all Malaysians consisting of 2 returning from Russia and 1 returning from Germany.
From the 11 local cases, there are 8 foreigners that were found positive at the Sepang Immigration Detention Depot. The remaining 3 local cases are Malaysians with 2 reported in Sarawak and 1 in Sabah.
