GrabFood expands to 5 new cities and it will be integrated into a single Grab app

GrabFood is turning one and they are expanding to more cities which include East Malaysia. According to Grab, GrabFood is Malaysia’s fastest growing food delivery service and they currently cover thousands of popular restaurants.

After its introduction in the Klang Valley, GrabFood will be expanding to Penang, Melaka, Johor Bahru, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu. The expansion will begin progressively starting next Monday, 22nd April 2019.

Since the launch of the service last year, GrabFood has enjoyed a steady 30% growth on a monthly basis and they have completed more than 2 million deliveries so far. They also added that restaurants on GrabFood have recorded an increase of 10-20% in revenue.

To offer a better user experience, Grab will be integrating GrabFood into a single Grab app. This will start tomorrow, 17th April 2019 and they target to complete the migration by mid-May 2019.

According to Country Head of Grab Malaysia, Sean Goh, the integration will bring more value and opportunities to all who are part of the GrabFood’s ecosystem. Customers are able to check out the latest promotion on the GrabFood home screen and they can view key information upfront such as restaurant closing times, ratings and distance.

Frequent Grab users can also conveniently redeem and use GrabRewards with a single click. In addition, customers can also contact their GrabFood delivery riders via GrabChat if they need to check on their order or to provide additional instructions for delivery. Grab expects food delivery to increase by at least 2x with this new app integration.
