This is how NOT to identify a fake iPhone battery

So, your iPhone’s battery life is getting worse and it probably gets slower with the latest iOS update. If you don’t plan on replacing the device, you can fix the iPhone with a simple battery replacement.

For those looking for a cheaper replacement, most people would be wondering if the batteries they are getting are the real deal. One guy in China thinks he can tell a real from a fake but it turns out to be a bad idea.

A man had visited an electronics store in Nanjing City presumably to get his iPhone battery replaced. Unsure if he was offered a genuine battery, he took a bite which then caused an explosion. He probably thought he can test a battery like how people would test gold by biting the material.

Fortunately, he chucked the battery quickly and there were no injuries reported. The incident was captured on CCTV and you can watch it below:

If you plan on getting your iPhone battery replaced, Apple authorised service providers such as Machines and Switch are offering discounted replacements at RM129 all-in inclusive of GST and labour charge. This is applicable to the iPhone SE, iPhone 6 and above.
