OnePlus 6 could be announced in June with a Snapdragon 845 processor

The OnePlus 5T is barely two months old and it isn’t surprising that OnePlus is already working on their next smartphone. If you’re looking for the next “flagship killer”, fortunately, you won’t have to wait for too long.

In an interview with CNET, OnePlus CEO, Pete Lau, had dropped a few clues of their upcoming flagship which is likely to be called the OnePlus 6. Similar to the OnePlus 5, the OnePlus 6 is expected to arrive around June which is a couple of months after the Galaxy S9 is launched at MWC 2018.

When it comes to specs, Pete didn’t reveal much but it is confirmed that it will run on Qualcomm’s newest Snapdragon 845 processor. Obviously, the Galaxy S9 in the US will be the first smartphone to utilise this new processor and OnePlus will be among the next in line to use it.

While several smartphone players are banging hard on AI, OnePlus isn’t going to jump on the bandwagon anytime soon. They believe AI is just a buzzword and they have already introduced several smart features into their products without shouting much about AI.

In terms of sales, the OnePlus 5T is their fastest and best-selling product yet and they are looking to increase its reach through US telcos this year. It is reported that 85-90% of US customers are buying their phones from a telco. If they can strike a deal with a major partner, that could propel the OnePlus brand beyond tech enthusiasts.

The OnePlus 5T is already on sale in Malaysia and it’s priced from RM2,449 for the base 6GB RAM and 64GB storage model. The higher-spec 8GB RAM and 128GB storage option is priced at RM2,749.

Snapdragon 900 is coming soon,

Jagan Tak milk those hardcore fan

OnePlus is nothing but an overrated flagship device with lots of Chinese spyware. Don't say it's cheap coz it's NOT. Their latest phone costs around 2.5k for the base 64gb model and is NOT expandable.

You can get a Mate 10 Pro or HTC U11+ with both 6gb/128gb combo for 3099. The former having a dual camera setup and the latter having an expandable storage option. BOTH are IP68 water and dust resistant.

true. the only good thing about oneplus , is their active development fan base.

Agree with the part that OnePlus is no longer cheap. But it’s still cheaper compared to premium brands but still you get what you pay for.

For the price that they are charging, ordinary users could be better off paying a higher price to get a better premium brand like Samsung.

It’s still cheap for a 8gb 128gb flagship with a blazing fast OS at rm2.7k. It has the fastest charging tech as well. I can argue that Samsung will lag overtime

your blazing fast OS still the same OS with *cough* Samsung.

If u have not used near stock Android then u do not understand the difference with that Samsungs laggy touchwiz. Oh and i got mine for 1.9k brand new. Amazing super fast phone. Super worth it. I doubt a Samsung would feel premium if it lags even when opening the keyboard.

I am using OnePlus 5. Very satisfied and would consider OnePlus product in the future. But doesn’t mean I won’t go for other brands. When come to replace my current phone, I’ll see what fit my needs best. We are indeed having more choices these days.

OnePlus cannot play cheap forever. They have to upgraded their status and many fans appreciate better design and higher quality. What Samsung model can compete with OnePlus on price? A8? That is not even same level. OnePlus software is better and it still fast after more than a year, smething other expensive brand cannot do. More people are buying means there are fans willing to pay. If you cannot afford, buy a phone that suit your budget and lifestyle.

MMM, RM3000+ for a lower spec phone, no way, i dont need to bring the phone to swimming pool any how. im able to survive 128GB non-expandable by deleting older files and proper manage my files and apps, im not going to download full hd tokyo hot into my phone, so it is manage-able.

Oneplus 6 will be release in June?
What about the rumor from GizmoChina says it’s gonna be release on March?

Oneplus up to Oneplus 3T were flagship killer but starting from Oneplus 5, they are no longer interested to remain as such.

Oneplus is now being beaten by Honor especially by Honor 8 Pro in term of its place as flagship killer. The former has departed from their own winning formula and the latter has yet to confirm in this year 2018 if they’ll continue to be the one that will fill the void left by Oneplus.

Bye bye Oneplus 3 and Oneplus 3T, you’ll be missed greatly by us.

    It does make sense.

All thoseengineers and staffs would demand better reward after years of incremental successes. Unless, this company fires old and always higher fresh staffs.

Everyone needs better reward and bonuses.

If that is the case then Oneplus will close its shop sooner than we expected.

Oppo and Vivo will continue without Oneplus in BBK.

How about Oppo and Vivo staff, are they not getting any rise and bonuses these few years?

The major factor would be electronics components prices involved in Oneplus 5/5T and incoming Oneplus 6. Smartphones industry itself has made a setback for Oneplus. They relied heavily on their suppliers new demand and pricing.

Oneplus not even reached top 3 as a company and this engineers and staff already claimed higher salary and bonuses until it has affected their phone price, the company is as good as saying goodbye.

Smartphones market especially Android based phones are oversaturated with a lot of choices.

Even Samsung is now producing a new 2018 A-Series that is directly as a competitor to Oneplus. If Oneplus do not stay relevant, then Huawei-honor and Samsung could help Oneplus to exit this market altogether.
