OnePlus 2 officially goes on sale in Malaysia. Also available on MaxisOne Plan without Zerolution

If you’re looking for a different kind of flagship, the OnePlus 2 is now officially available in Malaysia through Maxis. You can get it through its Zerolution program at RM104/month inclusive of its early upgrade and device protection option or alternatively you can get it with its traditional MaxisOne Plan contract.

On the Zerolution program, the device is going from as low as RM59/month across 24 months with 0% interest and no upfront payment required. The only prerequisite is that you’ll need to sign up with its MaxisOne Plan that starts from RM98/month.

Alternatively, you can get the OnePlus 2 the old fashion way with 24 months contract on the MaxisONE Plan. The bundled pricing are as follows

MaxisONE 98 – RM1,199.00 (RM1,270.94 with GST)
MaxisONE 128/158/188 – RM999 (RM1,058.94 with GST)

RRP: RM1,687 (RM1,788.22 with GST)

As comparison, the option without Zerolution offers more subsidy if you’re committing to its higher plan. At RM59/month on Zerolution, without any extra upgrade or insurance options, this comes out to RM1,416 in total for the phone. The biggest difference for not taking up Zerolution is that you’ll need to fork out an advance payment and there’s a penalty should you end your contract before the 24 months period is up.

Take note that the OnePlus 2 is only available to those who have gotten an invite from Maxis. If you’ve received one, you can validate your invitation code here. You can pick up the device from the Maxis Centre or at their selected partner outlets which are listed here. Interested to get one? You can still register for an invite here.

To recap on the specs, the OnePlus 2 features a 5.5″ Full HD display and it is powered by a Snapdragon 810 Octa-Core processor with 4GB of RAM and has 64GB of on-board storage. It also gets 13MP main, 5MP front cameras, a fingerprint scanner, USB Type C connector, 4G LTE Dual-SIM connectivity and a huge 3,300mAh capacity battery. Want to know what we think? Apple fanboy

If I take up the maxis zerolution plan which is rm58/month with maxis one plan rm98.
Then I terminate the maxis one plan on the next month, meaning I would need pay up the balance 23 months which is 59*23=1357

So total payment of this phone will be 59+98+1356=1514, which is still cheaper than rrp 1687, excluding gst.

You have forgotten the penalty on your 24-month contract of maxis One plan of RM98 monthly.

I thought there is no penalty for zerolution.

I'm sure they would have calculated that some people might do that, it's probably in the fine print somewhere.

If I got an invite from OnePlus, can I use that invite to buy at Maxis?
