Lenovo K920 full specs revealed ahead of launch

The Lenovo Vibe Z (K910) is due for a replacement and its upcoming K920 is set to be announced next week in China. Like the latest top spec flagship smart phones, Lenovo is jumping on the Quad HD bandwagon and it stands out by having the largest display and battery capacity.

Now its full specs and features have surfaced ahead of its main event. Its front display is sporting a 6″ IPS Quad HD screen which does a colossal 2560×1440 pixels which does a pixel density of 490ppi. As comparison, the LG G3 and Oppo Find 7 displays are pushing 538ppi with its smaller 5.5″ screen. For heavy duty processing, it runs on the similar 2.5GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 801 and it is also mated with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, putting it on par with the current flagships including the Xiaomi Mi 4.

Understandably that having a Quad HD display will take a toll on battery life and it is a good thing that Lenovo is packing a huge 4,000mAh capacity battery. Despite being a large screen device, the K920 is still a slender device with a 7.7mm thickness and it is wrapped around with a premium metal body like its Intel based K900 smart phone. The bezels are said to be extra thin and it boasts a screen-to-body size ratio of 83.5%. It may not be as thin as the Sony Xperia Z Ultra but it is likely to be more pocketable with its smaller 6″ display.

The good stuff doesn’t end there as it also gets a higher 16MP main camera which is further assisted by Optical Image Stabilisation and dual-LED flash light. Furthermore, it is also capable of shooting 4K videos at 120fps. For selfies, it is handled by a front facing 5MP shooter. For connectivity, it supports a wide range of 4G LTE frequencies for both China and international markets. In China, the K920 supports dual-SIM which supports 3G/4G bands. Out of the box, it will be running on the latest Android 4.4 KitKat with Lenovo’s new Vibe 2.0 UI.

Overall, the K920 looks promising and Lenovo is certainly ticking the right boxes for a new flagship device. Hopefully Lenovo Malaysia will be making this available locally soon.
