Popular apps such as Waze and Instagram is now finally available on Windows Phone 8, marking a small step in closing the gap with its other mobile platform rivals. It has been exact a month since Stephen Elop announced the arrival of Instagram at last month’s Nokia World event.
While this indeed is a sign of more developer support, current Instagram users on Windows Phone would probably find 3rd party apps such as 6tag and instance more appealing to use with its extra features and slicker UI. The current release of Instagram on Windows Phone is still currently BETA (version 0.1.0.0) with no video recording support at the moment.
For Waze, now Windows Phone users can join in the social navigation fun which currently has over 50 million users worldwide. Here’s an interesting trivia, back in 2009 Waze was initially available for Windows Mobile before the rise of iPhone and Android smart phones 4 years back.
