For a brief moment, Sony has accidentally listed a new device that carries the model Xperia Z1 s on its product page before taking it down. It is speculated that this could be the international version of the Sony Xperia Z1 f that was launched in Japan.
Seen as a mini version of its current Xperia Z1 flagship device, the Z1 f / Z1 s packs a similar quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB of RAM along with its 20.7MP shooter that’s mated with a large 1/2.3″ sensor. The thing that’s “mini” is the display that’s reduced to a 4.3″ screen that does 720p HD and a smaller battery size of 2,300mAh capacity. Just like its bigger Z1 sibling, it also comes with water and dust resistance, 4G LTE support, NFC and expandable micro SD slot.
Unlike other smart phone makers which stripped down most of its internals to low-medium spec levels in their “mini” smart phones, it is commendable that Sony maintains a high-end hardware in their “mini” models. This makes the Z1 f/ Z1 s appealing to those who prefer to get their hands on the latest hardware but in a more compact size.
