Maxis new iPad

As teased earlier, Maxis is also offering the new iPad for contract bundling. On Maxis, the new iPad can be yours as low as RM999 with 24 months contract of its 12GB plan.

In terms of data plan bundling, Maxis offers 3 plan options – 2GB data plan for RM48/month, 4GB data plan for RM68/month & 12GB data plan for RM108/month. As comparison, Celcom offers its 4.5GB plan for RM70/month and 7GB for RM100/month for the new iPad bundling. The plans from Maxis are tied with 24 months option and they require an upfront payment between RM300 – RM800 depending on plan. The upfront payment will be rebated back evenly across 5 months.

The iPad data plans do not charge for excess data but speeds will be throttled down once you’ve exceeded the limit. To speed up, Maxis also offers top up of data quota from RM8/day for 500MB. For long term add-on, there’s RM18/month for 750MB (30 days) and RM28/month for 1.5GB (30 days).

In addition, it’s worth noting that in certain areas, the Maxis network runs on DC-HSPA+ that’s capable of supporting theoretical download speeds of up to 42Mbps. DC-HSPA+ is supported in the New iPad and Maxis say that in DC-HSPA+ areas subscribers can expect a download speed of up to 10Mbps.

For more information, head over to their new iPad page.

For Maxis One Club member, they are throwing additional discounts where the new iPad can be yours from as low as RM699. You’ll get RM150 off on 4GB data plan bundling and RM300 off on the highest 12GB data plan option. There’s no price difference on the 2GB data plan option.

Awesome stuff for One Club members. 48/mo its pretty good man for 2GB. Beats DiGi in both coverage and monthly commitment.

Just saw on the Apple Online Store the 16GB Cellular + WiFi model is RM1899…. what?

Very good deal. Maxis should offer this when iPad is launched. Now too late already. Those who are seriously interested have already bought their iPads.

If advance payment is rebate back equally for 5 months, the value is more than monthly commitment. so the balance is bring forward or not to next month bill?hidden charge by maxis perhaps??

By right it should be brought forward, which means you have positive credit balance since you only utilised the monthly subscription amount. Unless of course if you top up additional quota in between.

what if i already have a maxis internet plan, can i just upgrade mine or what?
