LG has silently released 2 new models, the LG Optimus Pro and the LG Optimus Net. The LG Optimus Pro is a QWERTY candybar Android smart phone priced at RM649 while the LG Optimus Net is priced at RM749.

Both Optimus Pro and Net comes with 800MHz Qualcomm processor and runs on the rather recent Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS. In terms of memory, the Optimus Pro has a rather small 256MB of RAM while the Optimus Net has a more decent 512MB of RAM. For the display, the Optimus Net has a decent 3.2″ HVGA screen that pushes 480×320 while the Optimus Pro has a smaller 2.8″ QVGA screen which is also capacitive one. At the back, both comes with 3.15MP Camera which shoots VGA videos at 24fps.

Despite having low-spec to mid-range features, both Optimus devices come with a rather generous 1500mAh battery. It is commendable that LG has finally released new devices with Android 2.3 Gingerbread in order to keep up with the rest of the Android versions. Now those that are looking for a decent smart phone below RM1000, LG has just thrown in more options to choose from.

Both devices are spotted on IMCC and you can head over to their Optimus Pro and Optimus Net pages directly.

More pics of the devices after the break.

Nice design, the Optimus Pro. But why are all portrait-qwerty android phones all either low or mid end phones only? There are many BB users who would love to move to Android if only there were high end phones with portrait-qwerty keyboards available – or have I missed any gems amongst the junk?

The Optimus Net has a dual-sim version as well.
Any word whether it will be released here?
