The Samsung Galaxy Tab has been pried open, not by ifixit but JkkMobile. Obviously this wasn’t a proper dismantle process that we’re used to and the person doing it says that it was a nasty experience and advise viewers not to try this at home. Some excessive force is required to force open the plastic back.
In the video, he showed the massive 4000mAh battery which occupies nearly half of the tablet and the external sound comes from 2 speaker boxes which is bigger than we would expect. Looking towards the glass, the gorilla glass seems to be fused with the frame, making it possibly more costly and difficult to repair if the glass is broken.
Another surprise is there’s an empty slot towards the sides where he demonstrated a possible stylus could be stored inside. We suspect this area he mentioned might be for the antenna used for DMB TV which is Mobile TV feature that was shown in the Korean model.

Volvo dealer Swedish Marque are changing the game when it comes to waiting lounges. Instead of old magazines that nobody reads, the dealer are offering Apple iPads for customers to use while they are waiting for their Volvos to be serviced.
Having an iPad without WiFi connectivity is pointless as well so the Swedish Marque Volvo sales and service centre located at Jalan Dua in Sungai Besi, Swedish also offer free WiFi for customers to kill time.
We’re not sure how many iPads are available for customers at the dealer but we sure hope that more than one!

From now until 28 February 2011, Celcom is offering a lower roaming call rate on its AXIATA operators abroad. Under the AXIATA umbrella, there’s Dialog in Sri Lanka, XL in Indonesia, Robi in Bangladesh and Hello in Cambodia.
This encourages Celcom subscribers to choose its partner AXIATA operators for the best rates. If you’re in Indonesia, a call back home is only 35sen/min while in Bangladesh, it is as low as 30sen/minute. Mobile GPRS Data is fixed at RM38/day for all 4 networks.
This is something worth considering if you’re heading to Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Bangladesh or Cambodia. More details over at Celcom.

The Android platform offers a variety of keyboards. While most of them are auto corrective, predictive and gesture based like Swype and Swiftkey, they still revolve around the traditional QWERTY keyboard that was designed for full sized computers.
Now there’s a new keyboard called 8pen which is a redesigned keyboard that’s meant for devices with small screen. It basically has a centre region with 4 sectors in an X layout with keys spread on each side. The layout is designed with common used characters placed closer to the centre while the least used are spread towards the outer area. It looks like a neat concept which they say would reduce typos greatly and possibly offer the best blind typing experience.

From the details, the Droid 2 Global comes in 2 colours, Dark Sapphire and Winter White. The processor has been bumped up as well to 1.2GHz and the 3.7″ screen supports a wide 854×480 resolution. Being a global phone, the Droid 2 supports both CDMA and GSM signals. This poses a challenge to HTC’s Desire Z which also features a slider QWERTY keyboard.
