HTC has release another firmware upgrade for the Legend. This time it carries the version 2.05.707.1 which fix issues related to enhanced data connection stability and fix loss of ringtone for incoming call.
Users in South East Asia should be receiving notification anytime now over the air (OTA). If you can’t wait, you can check for updates from MENU > Settings > About Phone > System software updates > Check now.
UPDATE: Firmware version shows 2.1-update 1 after update. Existing Swype installation does not work, requires reinstall.

First up, Maxis has ran out of the 16GB iPhone 3GS and there are “limited stock” of the 32GB 3GS. This is not much of a surprise, everyone knows both Maxis and DiGi are clearing 3GS stocks to make way for the iPhone 4 and the 8GB 3GS.
But what’s interesting is that Maxis, on its FB page have indicated that they will launch the iPhone 4 sometime in “August or September”. We might have to revise our prediction slightly but we still feel that an August launch is probable.
Now, it’s just a matter of Maxis making the announcement.
Speaking of device launches, it appears that DiGi and Maxis are not as enthusiastic about bringing the BlackBerry Torch to Malaysia as they are with the iPhone 4. Even Celcom, a telco that’s big on Berrys are not saying anything about the Torch.
If you’re heading down to PC Fair and are looking to buy a new handphone this Sunday, the HTC booth is probably worth a look. Click on the main picture to see some of the deals HTC is having on their phones specially for the PC Fair.
We’re a bit confused on the Desire and Legend pricing as the price stated on the promo poster is the normal retail price. So we’re not sure what HTC means by the “3 Days Promo Price Only” tag on both phones. Though reports are saying that you get a whole load of free gifts if you purchase the Desire or Legend, this include an 8GB MicroSD, a Bluetooth headset, car charger and a screen protector, but we can’t confirm this. Guess you’ll really have to go there and find out.
If you’re wondering why there’s no offer for the HTC Wildfire, HTC says that the device is out of stock. We’re not surprised, for the money it’s a good device. But it’s odd that HTC didn’t stock up on the Wildfire in preperation for the PC Fair. That’s just poor logistics in our minds.
Anyway, if you have on ground intel on what deals are being offered by HTC and the other handphone brands at PC Fair, do comment us ya. Thanks!
