We compare the HTC One X with two of the fastest Android shooters in the market right now. How will the HTC One X stack up against the Fast Capture feature on the Sony Xperia S and the Zero Shutter Lag capability of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus?
Check out the video right after the jump to find out. Get ready to drop your jaw when the One X starts that 4FPS rapid-fire mode.

Check out Sony’s latest ad campaign to market its Xperia range of smartphones. The campaign centres on Sony’s “Made of Imagination” theme where Sony asks children to describe how they think a smartphone works. Sony then commissioned acclaimed Director Wes Anderson to turn imagination into something more tangible.
And the result is this first ad we see here. The one minute commercial took over 10,000 man hours to create and we think it’s every minute well spent.
We really like Sony’s new warm and fuzzy approach in marketing its Xperia range of smartphones. Backed by a strong product line-up for this year, Sony is making all the right moves to kick off what looks like a convincing return to being one of the world’s top device manufacturers. What do you think?
Head on after the jump for a behind the scene look at Sony’s latest Xperia commercial.
The Sony Xperia S plans from Celcom is finally revealed online with bundled pricing from RM1218. As usual, it comes bundled with a choice of 3 Celcom Exec plans and duration of either 12 months and 18 months contract duration. According to the website, Celcom indicates both white and black models are available.
For those that don’t make much phone calls and SMS, the Xperia S is also available on Celcom Broadband plans + Voice, which offers bundled data with voice calls charged separately. This is similar to what was offered for the Galaxy Tab 7.7 plans. The Broadband Plans + Voice starts from RM48/month with 1.5GB of quota. We’re not sure if it is a mistake on Celcom’s website but the Data+Voice plans doesn’t come with contract and all 3 plans offer the Xperia S for RM1,889. Even the model name “Xperia S” was typed wrongly.
The package of Celcom also comes with additional accessories such as LiveSound headset & NFC Smart Tags worth RM534.
For more information, head over to Celcom.

In terms of availability, Maxis is expected to offer plans for the Xperia S probably this Friday or the week after. As for the Galaxy Beam, Kugan didn’t specifically indicate when the device will be offered but we expect it to be available at least a month from now.

Right on cue, DiGi has started taking pre-orders for the Sony Xperia S. There’s nothing out of the ordinary with regards to the plans on offer. You get the standard selection of three DiGi Smart Plans and two contract period with the device going for as low as RM1,149. Subscribers will start receiving their pre-ordered Xperia S on Friday, March 16 which also is a clear indication that the device will be available in stores by then.
You’ll have a choice of 3 plans with 12 and 24 months duration. Bundled pricing of Xperia S on each option as follows:
DG Smart Plan 48 (12 months) – RM1,699
DG Smart Plan 48 (24 months) – RM1,499DG Smart Plan 68 (12 months) – RM1,449
DG Smart Plan 68 (24 months) – RM1,299DG Smart Plan 88 (12 months) – RM1,449
DG Smart Plan 88 (24 months) – RM1,149
Speaking of the device, DiGi’s pre-order has also revealed the recommended retail pricing for the Sony Xperia S. The device sells for RM1,899, which is pretty good value considering the Xperia S is one of the latest dual-core Android devices in the market with NFC support and a decent 12MP Exmor R-equipped camera. Disappointingly there’s no mention of Sony’s NFC SmartTags included with the device. We’re still hoping that Sony will offer the accessory for outright purchases from its stores.
The Xperia S was just only unveiled on January 10 and in just two months the device is already on sales here. Kudos to Sony for making this happen, we’re pretty sure that’s a lot of Sony fans out there are happy for this.
Full details on DiGi’s Xperia S offerings here.

The Sony Xperia S will be launched to the Malaysian media on Thursday, March 15 and chances are it will be available in stores on Friday, March 16. While there are a number of you who are very curious about the Xperia S, there will be others who have already made up their minds on geting one, either way reading the manual of the Xperia S would give you some very valuable information as to what you can expect from Sony’s top-of-the-line Android smartphone.
And if you’re one of those people who like pouring through a user manual, then you’re in luck because Sony has just released the user manual for the Xperia S in a multitude of languages online — you can download the PDFs here.
Happy reading and do let us know if you find anything interesting. We found out that the Xperia S supports USB On-the-Go (USB OTG) but the bad news is not all cables work. You will need an unusual type of cable to access USB OTG and the one we had – which came from bundled with the Nokia N8 – didn’t work. So if you want to access this feature, make sure you test the cable with your future Xperia S before buying it.
