Love it or hate it, Samsung’s Bixby assistant is still here to stay. The extra button found on the Galaxy S8, S8+ and Note8 makes it easier to trigger Bixby but there are those who find it annoying as it is often mistaken for the volume down button.
For those who don’t want to use this feature, Samsung has finally released an official solution. You can finally disable the one press Bixby key after receiving a software update.
Bixby was one of the most polarising features to make an appearance on Samsung‘s flagship Galaxy S8 and S8+ smartphones. Some loved it, some hated it, and some just didn’t see the purpose in having yet another voice assistant. Many, in fact, tried their best to remap the dedicated Bixby button on the side of their smartphone — something Samsung has been actively blocking.
Well, like it or not, Samsung is committed to their new assistant and have begun rolling out Bixby’s voice capabilities for US English.
This is it. The reviews for the Galaxy S8 are all out and if there was one common denominator between all the reviews, it would be that Samsung makes the best smartphone hardware in the world. But since the S6, I’ve always felt that Samsung did hardware extremely well.
What they were rubbish at was their software, more specifically their Android skin. Gosh, I hate TouchWiz. But it seems like Samsung has been listening because when I spent my time with the Galaxy S8, I actually enjoyed the software experience.

Meet Bixby, Samsung’s very own personal assistant AI program that will make its debut on the new Galaxy S flagship. And they’re promising the world with this one.
