If you have been eyeing for Apple products, mark your calendars this Friday 6th January 2012. Apple Online store is throwing a one day Apple shopping event in conjunction with the upcoming Chinese New year festival.
In last year‘s CNY promo, Apple slashed up to RM131 from its iPad price and additional RM331 discounts on its MacBooks and iMacs. If the trend continues, we should be expecting similar discounts as well.
Since the iPhone 4S was launched just recently, we don’t expect any reductions but who knows Apple might throw in something special.

Portable speakers are great for sharing music and other sounds from you iDevice but the thing is most are not terribly practical when your on the move. Enter the Tembo Trunks.
These virtually indestructible, specially designed rubber cones amplify the sound coming out from the standard iDevice earbuds up to 80dB and doesn’t require any external power source. Ingeniously simple.
The guys behind the Tembo Trunks idea are currently looking for funding on Kickstarter to get their project of the ground. They’ve already exceeded their minimum goal of US$10k and are closer to US$20k now. If you want to get your hands on a Tembo Trunk, the minimum pledge of one is US$40.

Apple Store is doing one-day shopping event for Chinese New Year where they are throwing extra discounts on a range of Apple devices. If you’ve been holding up your purchase for some extra savings, now is the time to consider. Do note that this is only happening today 14th January 2011.

The iPad now is even cheaper with RM131 discounts across all models. This makes the entry level 16GB WiFi version going for RM1418 from its usual RM1549 pricing. The highest end iPad 64GB with 3G goes for RM2468.
Apart from the iPad, you can get the latest iPod Touch from RM749 (RM81 off) for the 8GB version or the tiny iPod Nano 8GB for RM508 (RM41 off). There’s also additional discount of RM331 on MacBooks and iMacs.

Apple has finally revealed the long awaited iOS 4.2 which brings several new features especially multitasking for iPads. Some of notable features are AirPrint, AirPlay, ability to search within a page on Safari, customised message tone, multiple font support for notes and much more.
Also announced together with iOS 4.2 is that Find my Phone app is now free to use on iPhone 4, iPod Touch 4th Gen and iPad users without the need for a MobileMe subscription. Just download it from the AppStore and you can now perform remote wipe and other various remote controls.

If you have an iPhone 4 device with iOS 4.1, the only way to jailbreak is via limera1n. However at time of release, it is only available for Windows. Now the Mac version is available on their website.

If you’re in need for iPhone 4 jailbreak after upgrading to the latest iOS 4.1, there’s good news for you. A new jailbreak called limera1n from Geohot has just being released ahead of iPhone Dev Team. This release however is reported to be slightly buggy as listed on their site.
Some known bugs are 3GS new bootrom is broken and Cydia icon will only be displayed when restarted after installing. From what we have seen with others, this is far from perfect so jailbreak at your own risk. Currently it is only offered for Windows, so linux and mac folks gotta wait for another update.

Apple has issued a new iOS update version 4.0.2 that fixes the PDF vulnerability issue that puts your iPhone at risk.
Keeping hackers at bay sounds good but the trade of here is that you can’t jailbreak your phone via web browser. The jailbreak also exploits the similar vulnerability that’s fixed with this version.
This update for iPhone and iPod touches can be downloaded via iTunes.

There’s a new jailbreak for iPod/iPod/iPhone 3G/3GS and the latest iPhone 4 by the iPhone Dev Team (Comex). If you haven’t jailbreak for phone because it’s too complicated, this is good news for you. You can now jailbreak your iPhone by simply visiting a website. Just launch your Safari Browser and head to http://jailbreakme.modmyi.com to jailbreak. It can’t get any simpler than that.
According to early reports, the first few users had problems using MMS or Facetime but this is fixed with the latest updated version. If you still can’t use it, you might need to follow some steps here.
