U Mobile finally has an online store where you can buy new smart phones with telco plans from the comfort of your home. Since it is new, there’s only a handful of products available which includes the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C and the Galaxy S6.
With the recent price hike for the iPhone 6 in Malaysia, U Mobile appears to be the only telco selling the device outright on prepaid and it is a more affordable than the usual market price.
Shortly after the announcement of the latest iPhone 6s, iPad Pro and iPad mini 4, the Malaysian Apple Online Store has made some price revisions on its product line up. With no surprises, most of the current iPhone and iPad models are getting a price increase, no thanks to our weakening currency exchange rate.
The iPhone 6 Plus costs as much as RM149 extra while the iPad gets price hike as much as RM459.

From now until 31st July, you can trade up from any smart phone and enjoy extra savings when you sign up with Maxis. According to them, they will accept any device even though it’s not functioning anymore, as long as there are no signs of bloated battery, and if it’s an iPhone, it has to be unlocked.
All models will be accepted from the old non-touch enabled feature phones to the new mainstream models. If you lost the box and original charger, no worries as Maxis requires just the phone for this programme. Just make sure it is in good condition with a stylus included (if it originally comes with one).
So much does your old phone cost? Let’s find out.
Now the iPhone 6 is priced from RM2,702 for 16GB, which is RM303 more since its launch in Malaysia last last year. Meanwhile the phablet sized iPhone 6 Plus now costs more than RM3,000 at RM3,126. This is an increase of RM377. The same 6% increase also applies on their iPads in Malaysia but it isn’t so much as it left unchanged during the price revision that happened a few weeks ago.

U Mobile today has unveiled some interesting new plans for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. With its value for money proposition, U Mobile wants to make the iPhone more accessible to all. One of the new features is new financing option called U Microcredit, that lets you purchase the phones on installment with a subsidised plan.
Customers can now get the iPhone 6 starting from RM 98/month, as opposed to most plans from other telcos that require a hefty upfront payment and are essentially stuck to their plan for a set amount of time at minimum.
If you’re planning to buy an iPhone 6 in Malaysia, most likely you’ve been disappointed by the recent price increase. U Mobile, the 4th telco to offer the iPhone 6 on contract wants you to know that all is not doom and gloom.
With its ongoing registration of interest, U Mobile has revealed more details of its offering which are one of a kind in Malaysia. For starters, they would be offering the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus at previous lower prices, while stocks last.
The registration exercise will start from today until 16th of March, which means they could be offering it as early as next Tuesday (17th March). It is also mentioned that U Mobile will be giving the lowest cost of ownership, freedom of postpaid contract, as well as a first of its kind offering for prepaid users. U Mobile might be 4 months behind its big 3 rivals, but it will be interesting to see how they could do things differently in terms of value and contract flexibility

If you want to get an iPhone on contract in Malaysia, you are usually limited to the big 3 telcos (Celcom, DiGi & Maxis). Not anymore as U Mobile has teased that they would be offering the device soon. Pre-registration for the iPhones will start on next Monday, 9th March.
U Mobile hasn’t revealed their bundling details yet, and they could either create a iPhone specific plans or bundle them together with their current #GetClever plans. Like previous bundling offers, we expect U Mobile to offer more enticing offers such as zero advance payment waivers and additional protection add-ons for its higher postpaid plan offering. The iPhone 6 retails outright from RM2,399 while its larger iPhone 6 Plus is priced from RM2,749. If you’re interested, you can register yourself with them next week.
