The latest iOS 7.1 update is now available for download on iPhone and iPad devices. It brings the latest support for CarPlay which allows seamless connectivity with CarPlay supported vehicles along with couple of new enhancements. For Siri, they have added more voices and the ability to manually speak to Siri in a Push to Talk fashion by press and holding the home button to speak. This allows Siri to react faster by releasing the button once you’re done.
Apart from that, there’s some minor improvements on iTunes Radio and Calendar usability along with a couple of bug and performance fixes as well. You can download the iOS 7.1 update Over The Air (OTA) using a WiFi connection. To get started, head over to Settings > General > Software Updates.
Thanks Abdul Muhaimin Jarni for the tip!
A few days back, iPhone users on DiGi were pushed a new software updates which gives them 4G LTE support. Now Apple’s website finally confirms this and have listed DiGi under its list of supported telcos for their iPad & iPhone which includes the iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, iPad Air & iPad mini with Retina display.
Unlike other 4G telcos such as Maxis & Celcom, DiGi’s 4G network is running solely on LTE Band 7 (2600MHz). Interestingly, Apple has listed DiGi being supported for the iPhone 5 and the 4th gen iPad with Retina Display which runs on LTE Band 3 (1800MHz). DiGi meanwhile has also confirmed on Twitter that its 4G network runs on 2600MHz.
At the moment, DiGi’s 4G LTE roll out is said to be in the testing phase and it is limited to the Klang Valley. Before you’re able to hook on to their 4G LTE network, DiGi says that you would need to switch to their USIM card which has a “U” indicated on the SIM.

It appears that DiGi is one step closer in enabling 4G LTE for iPhones. If you’re an existing DiGi subscriber with an iPhone 5/5S, you should be getting a software update which enables LTE connectivity under Cellular settings.
However don’t get too excited just yet as DiGi’s 4G LTE service doesn’t seem to be working for smart phones right now. DiGi’s 4G LTE service is currently available for broadband & tablet use. In response, DiGi has tweeted that 4G LTE for smart phones would be coming soon but without mentioning when exactly.
When DiGi started its 4G LTE commercial service 6 months back, they were running only on LTE Band 7 (2600MHz). As comparison, the other LTE telcos such as Maxis & Celcom are running on both Band 3 (1800MHz) and 7 (2600MHz).
The latest iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C supports LTE on both 1800MHz and 2600MHz frequency while the previous iPhone 5 only supports 1800MHz. Ideally we hope DiGi would offer LTE on 1800MHz as well so that existing iPhone 5 users would get to enjoy 4G speeds too.

The iPhone 5S and 5C will be available in Malaysia from 31 October and one of the more prominent Apple authorised resellers in the country, Machines, have confirmed that they will have stock of the iPhone 5S in store on launch day.
To make it easier for Apple fans to get a hold of their iPhone 5S of choice Machines have also created a Facebook page that updates readers on availability of iPhones at their various store locations. The page will be updated daily and you can check it out here.
The chart uploaded on the page is riddled with errors at the moment but we expect the people running Machine’s Facebook page to get that fixed shortly considering there are already a number of people complaining about the glaring mistakes. Update: Looks like they’ve updated the chart.
