It’s official. The white iPhone 4 will make its way to Apple retail stores in the following country starting from today — Thursday, April 28.
Austria, Australia, Belgium, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Macau, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, UK and the US.
Pricing for the white iPhone 4 is exactly the same as its non-white stablemate and while DiGi has opened registration of interest for the device, there is no word as to when it will come to Malaysia.
All Apple have to say about availability in other countries is that it’s coming soon. Soon being a relative term in this context.
So would you get a white iPhone 4 now or wait for the iPhone 4s/iPhone 5 to make an appearance sometime in September?

Celcom iPhone 4 emailer to prospects FAIL

While Celcom has officially started to offer iPhone 4 yesterday, they have sent emails to those who earlier registered their interest for the iPhone 4. The problem though, is they sent not 1 or 2 but up to 7 emails to their prospects. Not only it is annoying like spam but their links is invalid upon clicking.
What you’ll get is a private promotion page above with the message that your link is invalid. Looks like they have left out the unique ID code for the promotion in their email. We guess that they will be sending another email shortly with the correct link but we hope they really get their emails done right this time.
The email blunder aside, it seems that Celcom is giving a special promo for those who registered their interest for the iPhone 4. If you sign up by 28th April 2011, they are giving additional iPhone 4 accessories worth RM100 and with priority lane access during the phone collection. Not a bad offer for early birds that registered.
Celcom iPhone 4 plans now official

The iPhone 4 plans from Celcom is now official and it matches the earlier unofficial iPhone 4 plans.
From the official plans, the earlier device pricing were actually for 24 months contract. Now it is also revealed that Celcom is also offering the device for 12 months period as well. This makes Celcom and Maxis both offering 12 and 24 month plans while DiGi only with 24 months option. The 3 plans for bundling contract are known as Celcom Biz Pi 98, Biz Pi 148 and Biz Pi 248 which are business oriented plans.
UPDATE: Other notable points from the offer includes:
- Get 2 for the price of 1 for first 100 during the launch day. 2nd unit is a 16GB version and both must be on 24 months contract.
- Upfront payment for 12 months is RM300 for (Pi98, Pi148) and RM720 for (Pi248), while 24 months contract is RM420 (Pi98), RM600 (Pi148) and RM1200 (Pi248).
- Extended warranty for additional 1 year
- No mention what happens if exceed data quota as can’t find mobile internet details on Celcom Biz website. However from this unverified source, mentions that speeds will be throttled to 128kbps after exceeding usage.

Those longing for the White iPhone 4, your prayers have finally been answered. DiGi is starting its Registration of Interest for the Whilte iPhone 4 which everybody has been waiting for ages.
If you’re one of those iPhone 4 hopefuls that wish to stand out from the crowd, the white iPhone 4 is something worth considering. No dates or pricing details were mentioned as usual but we believe it should be offered at the same price as its Black iPhone 4 models.

An anonymous tipster revealed what he/she claims to be the details for the Celcom iPhone 4 plans. Although we can’t confirm whether this is the real deal or not, we still thought that it’s worth sharing.

We’ve gotten information that Celcom will be launching their iPhone 4 plans this Friday (April 22) and have started sending exclusive invites to presumably those who have registered their interest on Celcom’s official website.
From the invite we can also see that Celcom will be offering new, or more likely, revised plans for some of the current devices that the operator has to offer.
From the invite the following devices are on offer:
From left: BlackBerry Bold 9700, LG Optimus 2X, iPhone 4, an unidentified BlackBerry and a 7-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab.
The copy within the invite also suggests that Celcom will be showcasing a new technology — we wonder what that is.
In addition to the invitation an anonymous source have revealed what is claimed to be the finalised plans for the iPhone 4 with Celcom.
There are are a total of three plans to choose from starting from RM98 monthly to RM248 monthly.
In terms of the device, Celcom will be offering the iPhone 4 for as low as RM248 for the 16GB version and RM538 for the 32GB version. If you’re wondering, no, the white iPhone 4 won’t be making a debut this Friday.
All plans offer up to 6,000 minutes of free on-net talk time and up to 500 minutes of free off-net minutes on top of the bundled data which range from 2GB to 4GB per month. In addition, you get bundled SMS and MMS as well.
As with all Celcom contract plans, there will be up front payment required. This range from RM420 to RM1,200 depending on the plan that you subscriber to.
This plan is yet to be confirmed. More to come.

Whoa. Its like we went back into time to September 2010 when the iPhone 4 was all the rage.
Celcom’s registration of interest for the iPhone 4 has just gone live for those of you who are still thinking of getting an iPhone 4 but are still holding out hoping to strike a good deal.
And that’s precisely what we’re expecting from Celcom — a damn good deal. With most, if not all, who want to get an iPhone 4 probably have gotten it already, it’s going to be slim pickings for Celcom when it comes to prospective iPhone 4 customers. Let’s hope they have a pleasant surprise for us all.

Maxis slashes iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS pricing

Maxis has started cutting down its iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS 8GB pricing, an expected move before the new iPhone makes its debut. In addition, they are also giving Free Maxis WiFi service for 3 months if you purchase an iPhone with their plans.
Compared with its initial iPhone 4 pricing, iValue plans bundle price see a reduction of RM100-200 depending on model and contract duration.
Just a few weeks ago, they have introduced iValue Lite plan of RM70/month which is on limited time offer until end of next month. There’s no change on the iPhone 4 pricing for the Lite plan except for the 24 months contract price for the 32GB iPhone 4 which was reduced from RM2390 to RM2290.

Celcom has just issued a media alert confirming that the telco will be offering the iPhone 4 “in the coming months”.

While the rest of the world is getting ready for the iPhone 5 to make its debut very likely in June, we have to question Celcom’s judgement and foresight making this announcement.
Unless they have a really good deal up their sleeves, there’s really not much of an appeal for prospective iPhone buyers to head to Celcom for an iPhone 4.
Most, if not all, who want to get an iPhone 4 would probably have gotten it already and we’re pretty sure that those who are saving up for an iPhone would probably wait for the iPhone 5 to come.
So barring a ridiculously good offer from the telco, would you get an iPhone 4 on contract from Celcom?

We put it out in the open that the recently launched Nexus S is probably one of the most overpriced smart phones in the local market today (this is of course not considering absurdities like the Vertu et all). We find this rather odd considering a similarly speced HTC Incredible S that was launched on the same day is close to RM500 cheaper than the Google phone.
Is the premium on the Nexus S warranted? Some seem to think so. The supporters claim that the Nexus S delivers a pure, unadulterated Google experience and that being the only device currently available that’s running the latest version of the Android OS — Android 2.3 Gingerbread — the additional cost is warranted.
But is it? Is the Nexus S a better phone compared to its closest competitor the HTC Incredible S for it to command such a high price? Spec for spec how would both of this top shelf Android devices compare with the iPhone 4?
