News and rumours have spread like wildfire that LG will be switching to OLED displays for their next two big flagship smartphones, ditching the LCD panels that currently occupy the G6. Although it’s an interesting move by the company, the thing I want to know is, would it matter to you?
I wasn’t expecting too much from LG‘s G6. Last year’s G5 was a whole lot of hype, a whole lot of excitement and also a whole lot of disappointment. They were ambitious, but rubbish and that’s just a big shame. This year, I’m happy to report that LG has been wise. They chose to keep (and improve) the one feature I liked about the G5 and started from scratch with everything else.
But is it enough?
After a myriad of leaks and rumours, LG’s G6 was launched today in Barcelona, Spain. The company has ditched the modular design, ditched the removable battery and ditched the weird plasticky metal body of its previous flagship. So, what’s left?
