When the iPhone 4S was launched, most telcos are offering all in one plans with bundled voice, text and data. With more people getting onto the Whatsapp, Skype and other VOIP/IM bandwagon, not many would need that much talktime and bundled SMS. To address such usage patterns, DiGi is finally offering the iPhone 4S on DG Smart Plan 48, 68 and 88 which comes with 1GB-5GB monthly data quotas.
The full DiGi bundled pricing for the iPhone 4S as follows:
DG Smart Plan 48 (iPhone 4S 16GB) RM1,849
DG Smart Plan 48 (iPhone 4S 32GB) RM2,149
DG Smart Plan 48 (iPhone 4S 64GB) RM2,449DG Smart Plan 68 (iPhone 4S 16GB) RM1,699
DG Smart Plan 68 (iPhone 4S 32GB) RM1,999
DG Smart Plan 68 (iPhone 4S 64GB) RM2,299DG Smart Plan 88 (iPhone 4S 16GB) RM1,549
DG Smart Plan 88 (iPhone 4S 32GB) RM1,849
DG Smart Plan 88 (iPhone 4S 64GB) RM2,149iDiGi 88/138/238 (iPhone 4S 16GB) RM2,090
iDiGi 88/138/238 (iPhone 4S 32GB) RM2,390
iDiGi 88/138/238 (iPhone 4S 64GB) RM2,690
From the above device pricing, the iDiGi plans look more pricey but in actual fact, DiGi subsidise heavily on the monthly subscription instead of the device on iDiGi contract. As usual, all iPhone 4S contracts on DiGi are tied to 24 months duration.

Maxis too has offered something similar a few weeks ago by bundling the iPhone 4S on its Internet Value 50 and Internet Value 75 which comes with 1.5GB – 3.5GB monthly data quotas.

Two months after it was officially announced the iPhone 4S is finally here in Malaysia. If you’re not part of the first batch of iPhone 4S buyers that stood on line in the wee hours of the morning on December 16 then you’re probably biding your time to see if the iPhone 4S is the right device for you.
With the iPhone 4S available from three major operators at the same time, getting one has never been more complicating than it is now. With the selection of plans and options from different operators all offering different data, voice and monthly subscription packages, it’s very easy to get overwhelmed with what’s available in the market.
So which operator offers the best iPhone 4S plan for you? Can you get the iPhone 4S without a contract? Is the iPhone 4S really that good? How good is the camera? What about Siri? Does it work in Malaysia? What are other smartphones in the market right now that’s just as good as the iPhone 4S?
Whatever questions you might have about the iPhone 4S, we probably have the answer tucked away in a post somewhere. So head on over to right after the jump to check out what is probably the best iPhone 4S Buyers Guide in Malaysia right now.
The highly anticipated iPhone 4S was launched in Malaysia with the 3 big telcos offering iPhone 4S contract plans. While the plans offer all round bundles of text, sms and data, some people out there aren’t too keen with the contracted offers.
With Apple Online Store also offering the iPhone 4S outright from RM2199, consumers now have the freedom to choose other plans that suit their needs. It is also worth pointing out that the Apple Store is selling the 32GB and 64GB versions at a lower price compared to the listed RRP from the telcos.
Read on to find out other plan alternatives & ownership costs from DiGi, Maxis & even U Mobile.
Less than 12 hours away to the launch of the iPhone 4S in Malaysia, a commenter claims that he has received his iPhone 4S that he ordered from DiGi Online Store.
DiGi, Celcom and Maxis are scheduled to launch the iPhone 4S simultaneously at midnight tonight. If the commenter’s claim is true, DiGi could effectively be the first operator in Malaysia to release the iPhone 4S to subscribers.
DiGi is the only operator that is offering a delivery service for iPhone 4S to it subscribers, Maxis and Celcom subscribers will have to go to allocated stores and with that the possibility of long lines and wait time to get their iPhone 4S.
Any other DiGi subscriber that have received their iPhone 4S from DiGi today? Do let us know.

UPDATE 2: iPhone 4S now available on Apple Store from RM2,199.
We are less than 24 hours away from the Malaysian launch of the iPhone 4S. Earlier we have seen the iPhone 4S plans but which telco would be the first to let you have one in your hands?
Last week, Celcom was the first to offer pre-booking where iPhone 4S hopeful can fill up a form to secure their unit. However that wasn’t that convincing as registrants didn’t get any confirmation code or email for assurance.
This was followed by Maxis which offers RSVP for selected subscribers. They are given a link to book their units at their preferred time slots. Maxis execution was better as subscribers we’re given a unique code and clearly Maxis was better in handling from their last iPhone 4 launch.
On Sunday, DiGi has up the ante by offering pre-ordering where the iPhone 4S plans and pricing was revealed. Users that want to be the first “owners” could actually buy it online and have it shipped directly to them on 16th December. This makes DiGi the first to sell the iPhone 4S, but they would still need to wait for delivery on 16th December itself..
So which of the 3 actually lets you have one at the stroke of midnight? Read on as we list out the launch sales activities and availability.
UPDATE: iPhone 4S now available on Apple Store from RM2,199.
UPDATE 2: Since the iPhone 4S can be bought stand alone directly from Apple Store, we compared other alternative plans.
The iPhone 4S will be officially available in Malaysia this Friday with the 3 big boys – DiGi, Maxis & Celcom offering the device. This time around, the launch is more interesting as the iPhone 4S will be simultaneously available not only by the telcos but it also can be bought directly from Apple Store.
For cheaper ownership, the best way to go is getting the iPhone 4S through a telco. So what is the difference you might ask. Which gives better value or lower cost in the long run? Just like last year’s iPhone 4 DiGi vs Maxis comparison, we compared the latest offering of DiGi, Maxis & Celcom for easy reference.
Head after the break for full details
Not to be outdone by Maxis, DiGi is also offering a contract extension scheme for its existing subscribers who are currently tied-up with an iDiGi contract. The scheme – essentially an early termination offer – allows DiGi subscribers with still running iDiGi contracts to sign-up for a new contract to get the iPhone 4S.
The catch is, you have to pay a fee of RM150 to terminate your existing contract and start with a new contract for the iPhone 4S. To qualify for the offer, you will need to serve more than 12 months on your existing iDiGi contract. In addition, you must not have any outstanding payment in your account and if you opted for an Easy Payment Plan for your earlier iPhone purchase, you have to clear that as well. And finally, the offer is only available through DiGi Store Online and is valid from 9 December 2011 through 28 February 2012.
While DiGi calls this “contract extension”, what the scheme is essentially is an offer to terminate your existing contract earlier by paying a nominal fee. This differs from what Maxis is offering. Where with DiGi, you’re effectively terminating your earlier contract and starting off with a new one, with Maxis, you don’t have to pay any termination fee and just extend your existing contract for a maximum of 30 months (= your remaining months + your current contract extension).
What DiGi is offering is good if you’ve just crossed 13 months on your existing iDiGi contract and want to upgrade to the iPhone 4S. With the offer, you pay RM150 and forfeit whatever remaining months left in your existing contract and start off with a fresh contract. This is good if you have over three months more remaining in your existing contract, but if you have just one month or less to go, you could probably plead your case with DiGi be eligible for a new contract without paying any fee.
So what do you think? Is this a good deal of existing customers? Or do you prefer the contract extension offered by Maxis?
Head on over to after the jump for the full T&C on DiGi’s Early Contract Renewal offer.
UPDATE: DiGi has tweeted that 16th December delivery slot for iPhone 4S has been filled up.
UPDATE 2: We compared all 3 iPhone 4S telco plans. Read more here.
Digi has unveiled its iPhone 4S plans and prebooking today ahead of its competition. In terms of plans, they don’t differ much from its usual iDiGi 88, 138 and 238 offering. For the device, they have revealed the Malaysian RRP of the iPhone 4S as follows:
If you purchase an iPhone 4S from DiGi, as usual they will subsidise RM200 off the device price which makes the 16GB, 32GB and 64GB iPhone 4S offered at RM2090, RM2390, RM2690 respectively. The bulk of the subsidy from DiGi goes into the monthly plans which ranges between RM33-82/month depending on plan you pick. So if you take up iDiGi 88, it goes for RM55/month (with auto-billing) while iDiGi 238 is offered at RM156/month (with auto-billing).
With all that monthly subsidies, the iPhone 4S 16GB is effectively going as low as RM242 on iDiGi 238, provided you fulfill the 24 months contact. Head after the break for individual breakdown of each plan.
To pre-order now, head to the Online Store which DiGi says they will start delivering on the 16th December itself! Unlike Celcom and Maxis, this is the real deal where you are actually buying the device online.
UPDATE: iPhone 4S Official price and plans from DiGi revealed here.
We have been informed that DiGi will start pre-orders for the iPhone 4S today after 12PM. This comes right after Celcom and Maxis had started their own pre-ordering.
While Maxis iPhone 4S launch is happening at a single location, Celcom has up their ante by offering nationwide booking and collection. It would be interesting to see how DiGi execute their pre-ordering exercise.
So there you have it, all 3 telcos in Malaysia have started their pre-ordering/booking and with a 4th option of getting it directly from Apple Store. We will update once the pre-order page is up.
To pre-order yours from DiGi, keep checking this link DiGi Online Store which is currently going thru an update.

Finally DiGi too is joining the Malaysia iPhone 4S party. At the stroke of midnight, DiGi has placed a teaser for the upcoming iPhone which indicates that they are still in the race.
So now we have heard from Maxis, Celcom and DiGi. As mentioned earlier, Celcom is looking at being the first to offer iPhone 4S in Malaysia.
We’ll see who will make the first move on 16th December and hopefully they will drop more hints and details of the bundling plans as well. Keep it locked on to SoyaCincau.com for update or follow us on twitter.
