Finally, Apple has made some significant progress when it comes to charging their newest iPhone. To embrace wireless technology fully, the iPhone 8 and iPhone X now support wireless charging. That made a huge impact on the aesthetics as both iPhone models use glass for the back instead of metal.
Another key feature which didn’t get enough mention is Fast Charging. Yes, you can finally charge faster on a cable.
Before you get all excited, there’s one thing that would put you off, especially if you’re going to spend more than RM5,000 on a new phone.
OPPO is known for its insanely fast charging tech and they have recently extended this feature to its related OnePlus brand. Introduced as Dash Charge, OnePlus reckons that you can charge its new OnePlus 3 smartphone for a day’s worth of power with just a quick 30-minute charge.
To show off its charging speeds, OnePlus has released a comparison video against the Galaxy S7. Check out the video after the break.
You know those times when you’ve accidentally dunked your smartphone in water and proceed to charge it shortly after? Nope, us neither. But still, once you’ve made a device water resistant, it doesn’t hurt that you’d prompt your customers that charging is imposible (yes, say it with a Spanish slang) – when it feels that your smartphone is a little on the wet side.
If you’re a smartphone user, you’re constantly aware of the nearest power point and you’ll be lugging around bigger and bigger battery packs to make sure your device has enough juice to take you to your next selfie.
But sometimes, you don’t have access to a power point and your 1,000,000 mAh battery pack is all used out, so what do you do?
Two geeks from Australia think they have the answer and it’s called Plan V. The idea couldn’t be any simpler, create a device that uses readily available 9 volt battery to power your device. Plan V works pretty much like a car jumper cable. You simply connect a 9 volt battery to the Plan V device and then hook it up to your phone.
Weighing in at only 7 grams – Plan V is designed small enough to sit on your keyring. No cables and no bigger than a typical house key.
If you use Waze a lot, you definitely need a car charger to keep your smart phone juiced up at all times. Want something that looks extra cool? Check out this awesome little gadget from ThinkGeek that looks like a tiny Flux Capacitor from the popular time travel movie, Back To The Future.
