Apple has released a total of 4 iPhones so far, the original iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS and the latest iPhone 4. Performance is obviously improved with claims of “fastest iPhone yet” each time a new iPhone is announced.

So how much faster can it get? To make it easier, there’s a video demonstrating all 4 iPhones running apps such as Plants vs Zombie, Google Earth, Seadragon and Safari. As seen on the screenshot above, the latest iPhone 4 boasts up to 3X faster loading time on apps such as Plants and Zombie.

With HTC announcing its switch to Sony’s Super LCD display, many are wondering how does Super LCD compare to AMOLED? Howard forums had recorded a video to compare LCD (Motorola Droid/Milestone), Super LCD (HTC Desire), AMOLED (Nexus One) and Super AMOLED (Samsung Wave) displays.

Overall, the Super LCD is very similar to AMOLED display unless it is viewed sideways where the AMOLED reign supreme. Contrast for the Super LCD still loses out to AMOLED display but it is barely noticeable. HTC did mentioned that using Super LCD will give “better” battery life compared to AMOLED but so far we haven’t heard anything that proves this.

Inspired by the iPhone 4 tethered to a weather balloon video, self-confessed geek Danny Piers wants to send a smartphone into space and he needs funds.

Danny will tie a HTC EVO 4G to a weather balloon and set it free to achieve its maximum altitude. On its way up, the HTC EVO will be programed to take video and pictures whilst at the same time send back location information so that followers can track its location.

Once the balloon reaches its maximum altitude, it will burst and the HTC EVO will parachute to earth safely. The data gathered from the phone will be shared with the world.

Here’s what I’ll be using the funds for:

Weather ballons, not sure how many at this point

Recovery parachutes

Helium (surprisingly expensive)

Miscellaneous materials

Inevitable catastrophes, specifically lost and broken phones

Piers wants to share the application with other Android users so they to can send devices into space with weather balloons.

Sounds mildly interesting but we can think off other cooler things to do with your Android device, like here and here.

In the midst of antennagate, two major tech blogs have just gotten their hands on the latest version, albeit still considered as an early build, of the Windows Phone 7.

We warn you, these pre-reviews are very extensive and will take some time to read but the gist of it is fairly simillar.

There is much potential in Windows Phone 7 but there’s also a hell of lot of work to be done. Actually, that’s an understatement. The mobile market is hyper competitive with the iPhone as the player to beat and Android as the strong contender getting a strong foothold in the market. Don’t forget, there’s also BlackBerry and Symbian, not to mention bada all looking at grabbing their piece of the mobile market pie

At it’s debut, Windows Phone 7 will have only one chance to make an impression. They will need to do it right and do it right the first time. When it comes to smartphones, consumers are spoiled for choice and they will not give a lackluster product — both hardware and software — a second look.

The first Windows Phone 7 that’s expected to come late this year doesn’t need to be good, it must be great right out of the box.

Check the pre-reviews from MobileCrunch and Engadget, here and here.

Also, head on over to after the jump to see the official promo video of Windows Phone 7 showcasing its features and highlights.

(Update 20072010 1011hrs) We’ve added the translation for the video in thie post. Read all about it after the jump.

This video from Taiwan presents a compelling argument that Steve Jobs is kind of like Darth Vader.

For those who can’t catch what the narrator we have a rough English translation below.

In the meantime just take a look at the video, the visuals are pretty self-explanatory.

You know the iPhone 4 has very real design flaw, and you know Steve has been very defensive and arrogant about the issue. He’s saying he loves his customer, but does he really? Would you still consider the iPhone 4?

We did consider getting the iPhone 4 at WWDC10 but now, not anymore, not even by a long shot. No amount of free Bumper is going to make us change our minds.

If you’re in the market for a smartphone, break free from the sheep mentality and look elsewhere first before you decide. The iphone 4 is really not that great. Seriously.

Video after the jump.

[via]

English Translation:

The iPhone 4 is hit with controversies lately which Steve Jobs is busy fire fighting.

The Apple founder has helped his company to make billions thanks to the iPod and iPhone.

Currently it is reported that the size of Apple is bigger than Microsoft and Steve Jobs is undisputedly one of the key technology industry leaders. However some says that he is getting more evil when it comes to business.

When a leak prototype of the iPhone 4 was revealed by Gizmodo, Steve with the help of police enforcements had raided editor Jason Chen’s house to get back their device.

Recently there are also reports that alleged that Apple’s manufacturers had exploited contract employees as well.

There are many users who refuse to buy the iPhone as they are bounded by AT&T’s contract and have collectively complained about this.

The latest hurdle for the iPhone 4 is the antenna issue but Apple denies there’s problem with the device but it lies on the hands of the consumer which causes reception issues.

When Consumer Reports refuse to recommend the iPhone 4, that caught Steve Jobs’s attention and he called for an emergency press conference.

Now he says there could be a problem with the antenna but claims that other phones face the same problem as well.

If iPhone 4 buyers are not satisfied, Apple will give away cheap iPhone 4 covers to solve this problem.
