Arrul

Is it Nexus come with 16gb or 32gb??

    soyacincau

Only 16GB in Malaysia. Updated the post with your question.

Thetrystero

Just got mine in thE post. Very disappointed with titanium silver. Called digi to change color, but they said Malaysia got no other color. I guess samsung decided to dump their unpopular colors on small market like Malaysia without even offering choice. Or maybe digi got discount on the color no one wants:p

    Jeff

titanium silver?i thought Nexus come with only black colour?

gag

only 16GB? y Celcom page (http://www.celcom.com.my/smartphones/android.php#android1) show 32GB internal memory?

    soyacincau

Celcom has a habit of wrongly listing specs unfortunately

spaxes

It if officially launched in Digi Stores across KL on 16th not today.

Ajax

Digi online store get the privilege of delivery the Gnex to the buyers today. However, Digi store only start selling on 16th Jan

Ajax

Some SEP received their stock on 11th Jan and the buyers get their nexus at that night..

I got mine GN yesterday at Incomm in JB. They kept it in a safe. Had to fork out RM2,099.00. Overall feel is great. Bit of a waste of screen space due to the return/home/menu key at the bottom of the screen.

QUite a well built phone.

Comparing usable screen size with S2 it's actually not much larger.

I think HTC Sensation XL offers more screen space by having physical buttons.

Just my 2 cents after using for a day.

BeRaiYen

A silly technical question to SoyaCincau,

Is the phone in stock form already rooted?

What is "unlock the bootloader"?

Without the 2 above, does the GN update it's Android OS automatically or need to do some settings.

I'm a first time android user, lots of things still very unfamiliar.

Thanks in advance.

midnite_stryker

I read rumours that the 32GB GSM version will be released in UK early February along with the white 16GB version. Do you think it will hit Malaysian shores? I've been waiting since last year and am very disappointed that only the 16GB version is available now. Also, thank you for your updates! I've been following them and I must say the information provided is always correct.

Realemo

If I'm not wrong..the 32GB version won't be in Malaysia…only Verizon version will have the 32GB version which Malaysia wont support..

    midnite_stryker

Yeah you're talking about the LTE which is already available in the US. But this UK website (http://www.expansys.com/google-galaxy-nexus-32gb-black-224348/) is already taking orders for the 32GB GSM phone (scroll to 'technical details' section). It claims that it will be available in the UK early February. I'm not an expert on this so I have no idea where to look for such information so I hope you guys at Soya Cincau can look into this for us. I'm sure just like myself, many Malaysians who want the Nexus wouldn't mind waiting a few months to get the 32GB model. I really want the 32GB Nexus and I even sent an e-mail to Samsung asking if the 32GB model will be released here but they didn't offer any substantial information, I'm guessing due to marketing restrictions or something of that nature.

Wynn

The GN offering in Malaysia is it LTE enable ?
I heard that it is not LTE enable, is it truth ?
Please help to clarify !!!

Thx.

xoul

Just got back from the mines, basically all the shop there sell the GN far more expensive, lowest is rm2199, highest is rm2499, even the SEP is selling it for rm2299. Not a good place to buy a phone despite hundreds of phone shop there.

    JJJ

What a rip off!!! Best place is still sg wang and lowyat

Kelly

I have been waiting for Galaxy Nexus since last year.. have been following every update.. But I'm getting disappointed each and everyday as the reviews of Malaysian users have been harsh.. Now i really need a good phone.. either Galaxy Nexus or HTC… :(

xoul

@Kelly: Exactly, I know how u feel, but we don't really have much choice, GNex is the best smartphone currently. If you don't really want it. Wait a few months for a better phone.

Larry

Just sharing my experience, I bought a GNex at a samsung dealer for RM2099 on 13th. Phone works fine until on saturday(14th), I did not turn on the data and forgot the combination of her pattern unlock. After many attempts i got locked out and there was no way to unlock it again and we had to send to the service centre for them to fix it which was on monday(16th). Initially i was told that because it was a software problem it will take 1-2 hours to fix. After 2 hours i went back and we were told the software doesn't work and 2 days later i was told the motherboard was broken and they have to replace the motherboard. We asked for a new unit and they are reluctant to exchange a brand new phone for me. Don't I have the right to demand for a brand new unit?

    NikAiman

@Larry, I'm sorry to hear that you have to face this issue. This sounds like a poor factory workmanship and I would like to suggest rather than you mess around with Samsung dealer it would be better consult directly with Samsung warranty claim department. Refer you warranty card in the phone box. You have your right as a consumer to demand for a brand new replacement but unfortunately this is Malaysia and not Europe (whereas they have EU guidelines on consumerism subject alone). You can lodge a claim with the consumer tribunal (http://ttpm.kpdnkk.gov.my) but this is after all efforts fail.

      Larry

@NikAiman, thanks dude. If they don't ready it by tomorrow, i'll take things a step higher.

        pjam

Yes! Lodge complaint to the right authority. Samsung dealers are having a good time that they forgot to give good service.

techgeek

Where do I find cover casing (silicone/plastic/rubber) for Galaxy Nexus? Small-timer shops around town haven't started selling them yet.

ayie

anybody knows where i can get gnex ? cauze when i go to any shop, they said stock are not available yet, still to wait after CNY.

daniel

I heard one of my friend said that Galaxy Nexus having problems with the WiFi connection here in Malaysia.
Is it true? I really want to know. Is Galaxy Nexus struggling to connect WiFi in public or maybe even Unifi?
Galaxy nexus current users, please let me know.
Thank you very much.

    NikAiman

    Hello Daniel,
I've been using WiFi on this phone since day one I bought it. I'm relying on both UniFi and Yes 4G huddle and have no issue ever since. Should there is any issue it's probably has something to do with WiFi provider rather than the phone? I must admit I have never hook to any public WiFi to further comments.

    benjamin

wifi is fine, but i've experiece hard time that my GN kept force stop programs, even build-in app like face unlock, camera, gallery, people, and even the launcher stops!

Kelvin

when i get my galaxy nexus after playing 1 day i found that the screen is yellow instead of white and i have the issue of multi touch in landscape, google around and it having this bug but not all the batch, sending in to Samsung and request them to 1 to 1 exchange cause it only 1 to 2 days i use. really sad.

@teejayhee

Anyone knows whats the price now?
