For the first time in Malaysia, you can choose to keep your number active for 365 days for only RM33. To remain active, just top up a total of RM30 within the first 6 months. Now you don’t have to worry about being cut off, even when you have credit balance.Hotlink

Looks like the prepaid wars is heating up.

Today Maxis launched a new prepaid plan called the Hotlink 365 and with it Maxis hopes to enlarge it 8 million customer base through an unprecedented 365 days validity period – a first for Malaysia.

Though this extended validity comes with a price – a yearly fee of RM33 and customers have to top up a minimum of RM30 within the first 6 months.

With the pathetic validity periods devised by our local telcos to force subscribers to top up more so that they can drive revenue number up, this looks like a positive turn of events but we want to dig in deeper and see if this Hotlink 365 plan is really what it seems. So stay tuned.

By the way, thanks for the announcement Maxis but this is not the one we are all hoping to hear

Hi Soya, see how DiGi counters Hotlink 365. Just click on my name (will be directed to my blog). Oh my, competition is getting stiff.

Yeah its definitely interesting to see how much consumers like you and us will benefit from all this competition, especially when MNP comes rolling into town.

Please dont change to Hotlink365. It is a pure headache. Expensive, takes long to approve, cheating as you still have to top up, best of all you can’t make calls out and when calling call centres, the reasons are that the system cannot cope with demand. Utter rubbish. Just switch to another service provider through transferring you PAC number (by keeping your existing number) and enjoy the benefits. Just my advice, take it or leave it.

Interesting that you’ve mentioned this. We are also looking for any hidden components of Hotlink365, and now since DiGi Prepaid has countered, we will be scrutinising them very closely as well. More interestingly Oya revealed the Happy is the cheapest prepaid to keep valid for a whole year.

Are you stupid? I am so happy because I rather change to active my phone 365 days. I am now so poor and I dun want keep reload my phone every 30 months again. My phone was reached RM1000 credit, thats make me headache and dunno how to finish that credit.

Is good investment from 365 celcom because I not use much on my hotlink, for 3 months I not even spent more that RM10.

If I topup RM10 and just to make 1 call and after 10 days need to make some more 1 call I need to topup again. With this feature I spent RM33 and topup RM30 within 6 month. That mean I spent RM63 to make calling for 365 days and I still have lot of credit balance because I think I can’t even finish RM30 for 1 year.

Conclusion is benefit for a user with less use on their phone.
